The glorious past architecture and artful beauty of the cities has fallen somewhat into decline and disrepair over the last 200 years. They have an ancient artifact on the Beryllian gulf, from some-odd 4000 years ago, at the Triune temple - a huge tower which holds this magical artifact which shone light straight up into the sky, so brightly that it could be seen for hundreds of miles. National History
The Uthmanli Caliphate rose up out of an earlier civilization mostly of the disparate nomadic people uniting with the softer more sophisticated types from the Beryllian coast. They adhere to a rigid tri-theistic belief system and take a very dim view of other religions. Mother, Father, and Son gods. Practice of slavery remains intact but largely associated with household service and status rather than large scale agricultural work or construction. The caliphate encompassed almost all of the Coda (notably just pacifying rather than really RULING Saimonia) and lasted from shortly after the departure of Thracia for about 300 years before being pushed back into approximately the current Uthmanli borders. They still style themselves an Empire, however, and have an Emperor - rather than a king - as each major region has a king.
